This time, though, there's a "Resistance Meter," which tracks your progress throughout the game's several regions.
Far cry 1 plot free#
Like every Far Cry game, you've got a huge world to explore, and you're free to go about your objectives however you like. If you're on the edge of something and it was that one time it was all going to go to shit, would you know it?" "There are moments in history where you can kind of look back and say, 'Hey this is the moment where everything is changing.' It feels like three years ago, we were heading into one of those. "The thing that's truly the genesis for is just this feeling like we're on the edge of something," said Dan Hay, creative director for Far Cry 5, in an interview with Engadget. You end up becoming part of a resistance movement, whose goal is to take down the cult by going after Joseph Seed and the rest of his family. As you'd expect, your plans to arrest Seed quickly go off the rails. They're heavily armed, fanatical about their devotion to their leader, also known as The Father, and are quickly taking over more territory. This is also further supported by Hurk's mention of Jack's tattoo which is a reference to Jack's boat from Far Cry 1.It puts you in the shoes of a rookie cop, who's sent to arrest Joseph Seed, the head of a dangerous cult called The Project at Eden's Gate. Far Cry could take place at a different time due to their being no in-game reference to the year 2025 (as of what I know now). Apparently Hurk also mentions Jack Carver in Far Cry 4, so this further disproves this theory. The original Far Cry was made by a different company and may not be connected at all. This feels like a cop out and would be a lame explanation. After disucussing further I am starting to warm up to this idea, but still need more evidence. I believe that ending is non-canon though, so until proven otherwise i'm crossing that one out. There is an alternate ending to Far Cry 5 where The Collapse may of never happened. Far Cry takes place between two isolated islands and may of not been affected by The Collapse, but Val is CIA so it would be weird to explain that. If this is the case then how does The Collapse line up with that? I haven't played Far Cry 1 yet, so I'm not too sure on how this could be. While working on the timeline I saw something I never noticed before: Far Cry 1 takes place in the year 2025. So I'm working on a sort of timeline for the Far Cry games in order to connect them to something bigger.
